Following on from the recent launch of their W-Seltzer range, and in keeping with one of Australia’s new beer style trends, Wayward Brewing Co have added a mid-strength hazy Pale Ale to their core range line up.
The Hazy Mid’s (3.5%) arrival in cans comes after it was a popular tap option at their Sydney brewery throughout much of 2020 with its light malt and oats well balanced with the tropical hop flavours of Citra, Simcoe and Chinook. The hazy Pale Ale, in a lower ABV format, has been growing in popularity in Australia in 2020 as people seek a more sessionable version of the popular IPA and multiple breweries have jumped on the style trend.
Wayward’s version now joins their Everyday Ale, Pilsner, India Pale Ale, Raspberry Berliner Weisse and Red IPA in their core range. It’s available in cans from Friday 11 December in bottle shops and venues nationwide.
“We’ve actually wanted to put a mid-strength Pale Ale in our core range for a long time. We’ve been slinging the Hazy Mid in kegs at the Wayward Taproom for most of 2020, and it’s a ripper of a beer, so we decided it was the perfect addition to our lineup,” Wayward’s head brewer Shaun Blissett said.
“This beer is going to be great for Summer sessions. It’s refreshing, full of hops and full of flavour but low on alcohol — so it’s perfect for parties and will keep you from getting too sloshed in front of your family during Christmas lunch. As usual, there will be heaps of celebrations and gatherings happening over summer, and Hazy Mid is just a good decision for all of those sessions.”
