In a first time event, the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV) is showcasing the country’s top entries from the 2013 Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA) at an exclusive luncheon today (Wednesday, 7 August) at Choice Beer Week in Wellington, New Zealand.

The event is featuring around 50 award-winning beers to industry guests with a pre-tasting session followed by a three-course seasonal menu that has been matched to some top-notch Australian beers.

This move by the RASV marks the first time that AIBA winning beers have been featured at an international event.

According to RASV CEO, Mark O’Sullivan, the initiative is about offering the Australian beer industry an opportunity to strengthen its profile in export markets.

“An important pillar of the Australian International Beer Awards is championing its entrants and winners to celebrate their involvement, enhance their industry profile and strengthen export development opportunities,” he says. “Our first event is an important milestone in the Australian International Beer Awards’ 21-year history. It is designed to showcase many of the standout Australian entries from the 2013 AIBA to new audiences and to provide Australian breweries with access into the New Zealand market.”
