Tiger Beer has taken on the challenge of elevating the passion for soccer on the streets of Sydney, announcing the launch of the Tiger Street Soccer competition.
Culminating in a grand event and tournament at the Overseas Passenger Terminal on June 30, the games will be contested on a unique pitch with no sidelines in an effort to create a continuous state of play for participants to showcase their talent in the five-minute-half, five-a-side format.
There will be 16 teams competing, with players nominating themselves through the Tiger Street Soccer website, as well as being submitted by the top participating Tiger bars from Sydney.
The grand prize will be the chance to compete in the international competition, to be held in Malaysia in August. The all expenses paid trip will also give the Australian winners a shot at the US$13,000 prize pool that will be up for grabs as well as featuring on the live ESPN broadcast of the tournament.
