Snake Venom is officially the world’s strongest beer, coming in at a massive
67.5% ABV. And at $85 for a single 275ml bottle, it’s not something to be drunk lightly.
Made by Scottish brewery Brewmeister – who knocked fellow Scots BrewDog’s End of History off its high alcohol perch with the 65% ABV Armageddon (now the second strongest beer in the world) – it was a reaction to some customers complaining that the first attempt was “too weak” according to Scotland’s Daily Record.
According to the team “the beer still tastes like a
beer rather than a spirit. It’s hoppy, malty and very pleasant”.
Coming with instructions to “enjoy it like a whisky” Snake Venom is brewed with smoked peat malt and two
varieties of yeast.
