Four suburbs in Sydney’s brewery-laden inner west have taken out the top spots in a national drinks retailer’s list of the postcodes that have purchased the most craft beer online from them in the last 12 months.
In a range of insights into which of their customers were buying what online, BWS said alongside the Sydney suburbs’ love of craft beer, people from Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast were the biggest buyers of champagne and sparkling wine while Brunswick in Melbourne topped the list of suburbs to have the most gin delivered.
In regards to the suburbs purchasing the most craft beer online through BWS, Marrickville took out the top spot, with Ashfield second, Erskineville third and Petersham fourth. Perth in WA rounded out the top five.
“There are plenty of craft breweries in the inner west so it makes sense that the locals would be the biggest fans of craft beer,” BWS’ head of ecommerce Luke Calavassy said.
The insights come as BWS announced it was the first Australian drinks retailer to offer a guarantee on its one-hour drinks delivery service.
The guarantee means that if a customer’s order takes longer than one hour to be delivered, BWS will give them free delivery on their next order as long as that order has a minimum value of $20.
