Sydneysiders who were miffed at missing out on Good Beer Week will now have a chance to celebrate their own beer week with the official announcement of Sydney Craft Beer Week 2012.
Set to kick off with a bang in October the week long festival will feature local and international craft brews as well as showcasing great local food and venues with beer matching dinners, craft beer ‘tap takeovers’, to beer ‘mixology’, brewers showcasing beers made exclusively for the week and even something just for the ladies: a beer high tea.
With over 60 events planned for between October 20 and October 28 it isn’t just for the beer nerds with a unique gastronomic angle and even a ‘Beer Mimics Food’ homebrewing event with homebrewers as well as leading chefs and food personalities creating beers inspired by their favourite dishes.
With great venues in Sydney popping up to promote beer all over the city – like The Local Taphouse, Hart’s Pub and The Union in Newtown – the city’s beer scene is rapidly developing and ripe for it’s own festival of amber goodness.
