Stone & Wood and fellow Byron Bay residents Cape Byron Distillery have joined forces for the inaugural Brewstillery Mix Masters competition.
Bartenders from around the country have been invited to submit a serve that combines Brookie’s Byron Gin, Stone & Wood beer, and native ingredients. Submissions will be judged on appearance, aroma, taste, innovation, creativity and their understanding of the ethos behind both brands.
Finalists will be invited to a bartender’s showdown at seven locations around the country, where their serves will be put to the test.
“We are stoked to officially welcome you to submit your entry for the inaugural Brewstillery Mix Masters,” says Eddie Brook, Cape Byron Distillery co-founder.
“Your serve could be inspired by a gin boilermaker – a gin drink with a beer chaser, or something as simple as a Gin Mule cocktail topped up with a spritz of Pacific Ale. It really is open for bartenders to get creative.”
One winner from each location will take part in the ‘Byron Bay Booze Experience’, where they will brew a unique batch of Stone & Wood beer and distill an exclusive batch of Brookie’s Gin – inspired by the native ingredients in their winning serves.
“Winners will have the opportunity to learn about and immerse themselves in the amazing diversity of native Australian ingredients and enjoy the wonderful delights of what Byron Bay has to offer,” adds Stone & Wood head brewer Caolan Vaughan.
