Following two successful pop-up bars, Stomping Ground will open a permanent brewery bar at Melbourne Airport’s Terminal 3, the first airport brewery in the Southern Hemisphere.
The brewery bar will open this summer and Melbourne Airport’s Chief of Retail, Andrew Gardiner, said the bar is part of a broader initiative by the airport to showcase Melbourne’s renowned food and bar scene.
“Melbourne is one of the world’s top food destinations so it is important that our food and beverage offering reflects the amazing variety of food found across our wonderful city,” Gardiner said.
Justin Joiner, Co-Founder and Director of Venue Operations at Stomping Ground explains how he and partners Steve Jeffares and Guy Greenstone will bring their vision to life.
“Melbourne is our home and we’re incredibly excited to be bringing Stomping Ground to the airport. We’re proud to be working with our partners, Delaware North, who are clearly aligned with our ambition to create a genuine beer hall experience.”
“Travellers will be able to enjoy a wide range of our beers, from their favourites to some limited editions brewed on onsite in our six hectolitre brewery, along with a full beer hall food menu and tinnies to take away. We’ve teamed up again with our design team Studio Y to ensure that the venue, set against the backdrop of the brewery tanks and the airfield, will be the perfect place to relax when your flight is delayed, or stop for a quick beer before you board.”
In addition to Stomping Ground, other operators at the airport will include Pickett’s Deli and Moors restaurant from celebrated Melbourne restaurateurs Scott Pickett and Shane Delia respectively, EARL Canteen, much loved café Cobb Lane, Axil Coffee Roasters and Proud Mary.
