Renaissance Brewing Company in Marlborough, NZ, has released their new brew: White As.
The latest in their seasonal Enlightenment Range is a White or Wheat IPA.
One of the only versions of this style available commercially in NZ, the style was pioneered in the US by craft brewers who – as usual – threw out the rule book in pursuit of all things hoppy, cranking the bitterness in a style that usually forgoes the use of a lot of hops.
This Kiwi version, however, differs from its American brethren by avoiding the usual coriander spicing to create a strong, cloudy, 7.4% ABV Wheat Ale.
