Steinlager is responding to the needs of Steinlager and All Black’s fans by providing a bar finder iPhone app – and a whole lot more – to help supporters find their way around Kiwi town and back home safely. It is the must have app for Australian’s traveling to New Zealand this year for the Rugby World Cup!
Fans who download the free iPhone app can use it to find a bar to watch the games at,using a map-based or Augmented Reality (in which location information is displayed within a real-time view of the user’s surroundings, using the iPhone’s camera) bar finder that runs off the iPhone’s GPS.
The bar finder shows where the nearest Steinlager bars are (and there are over 300 across New Zealand), and provides an indication of how busy the bar is by looking at how many people have ‘checked in’ recently. People can ‘check in’ to a bar using a unique code listed in the app, and be in to win spot prizes drawn during All Black’s matches. There is also a real-time stream of All Black’s news, and a built-in taxi finder to help make sure everybody gets home safe and sound after the game.Brilliant!
Steinlager Rugby for iPhone is available on the App Store now. Alternatively, after touching down in New Zealand, iPhone users can request a link to download the app by texting the word APP to 321. Texts cost 20 cents (please note that international roaming costs may apply).
