Judging for the third annual Royal Adelaide Beer Show took place this week, with the winners to be announced this Friday, 26 July at the Highway Hotel in Adelaide.
Reinstated in 2011, the awards are attracting entries from all over the country, though it was the homegrown talent that took home a lot of last year’s trophy haul – McLaren Vale boutique brewery Goodieson won four trophies, including
Champion South Australian Brewery and Champion Exhibit for their
Goodieson Wheat Beer.
This year will also see Beer & Brewer‘s Publisher David Lipman having a crack at the “celebrity judging”, while the professional opinions have been left to the expertise of a 14-member judging panel – headed by Simon Fahey of Coopers and including Brendan Varis, Feral Brewing (WA), and Neal Cameron, Australian Brewery (NSW).
