The latest iteration of the James Squire Hop Thief Varietal Series is ready to hit the market- the seventh instalment taking shape in the style of an American-style pale ale.
Hoping to deliver a distinct fresh flavour in Hop Thief 7, the brewers at Malt Shovel carefully created a rich, full-bodied malt backbone to complement the chosen hop’s unique flavour and aroma.
Head brewer, Chris Sheehan enthuses that Hop Thief is a truly unique craft beer, putting its popularity down to the brewery’s ability to make use of the freshest hops available. He adds that for this particular brew “we’ve used Galaxy hops to deliver a vibrant citrus and passionfruit aroma, and then added Mosaic hops, which add pine notes and strong, earthy undertones.”
The Hop Varietal series began as an occasional brew that made use of some eclectic and seasonal hops. Its popularity saw it added to the James Squire core range, with a new brew being produced each year, and a Hop Thief 8 planned for 2016.
Hop Thief 7 is now on-tap in all states, and packs are rolling out this week.
