Queenstown, NZ, will be the place to be this Saturday, 8 February when the Heartland Craft Beer Festival kicks off for 2014.
Designed to showcase the best beers and gourmet food that New Zealand has to offer, the organisers have lined up more than 150 beers and ciders from around the country, including the likes of the Yeastie Boys, Valkyrie Brewing Co, Altitude Brewing, Mantra and Green Man to name just a handful.
As the event organisers themselves are saying, “We felt it high time we showed a few of these Central Otago winos a thing or two by unleashing the talents of the NZ brewing industry in one hell of a festival on Waitangi weekend in Queenstown.”
The homebrewers have also got a look in at the festival, with the Mangrove Jacks ‘Top of the Hops’ homebrew competition set to find out who’s the best backyard operator in southern NZ. The winner will have their beer showcased at next year’s festival, and get an opportunity to present a masterclass for homebrewers as well.
