The Great Northern Brewing Co has launched a new, Queensland-exclusive premium beer, Long Run.
The brewery says the new brew was designed for “discerning drinkers who would rather crack a coldie than pop a cork when celebrating life’s major milestones.”
While Long Run is a premium beer, Great Northern has stayed true to the heritage of the brand, creating a beer that caters to the unique Queensland climate and takes inspiration from the state’s outback.
Ian Giles, QLD State Manager of Carlton & United Breweries, says Long Run is set to become the beer of choice for Queenslanders seeking a premium choice for life’s special occasions.
“Lots of Great Northern drinkers have told us they are keen for a premium beer, so we’re looking forward to bringing Long Run to pubs and clubs across Queensland and seeing customers raising this soon-to-be iconic bottle.
“While the important moments in life are often toasted with champagne, Queenslanders have always done things a little differently. Brewing a beer that can bring people together to celebrate life’s milestones just made sense.
“It’s a brew inspired by the Queensland outback, where deep bonds are forged and tested every day. With its satisfying finish, Long Run is the perfect beer for those who know that getting things done may take time – but in the long run, it’s worth the effort,” Giles continued.
At 4.5 per cent ABV, the lager has been brewed with premium ingredients and 100 per cent Australian barley. The beer is golden in colour, and tasting notes describe a subtle tropical hop and citrus aroma that carries lightly onto the palate.
Great Northern is renowned for its signature clean crisp finish, a characteristic that is also described in the tasting notes for Long Run, ending with a subtle bitterness and a slight malt sweetness.
Packaged in a burgundy and gold bottle, Long Run will be available at select pubs, clubs and retailers in Queensland this week.
