Gage Roads has announced the name and style of their newest limited edition brew, which is reportedly due to hit stores right before Easter.
Working with the theme of the period of Lent (a period of voluntary deprivation that runs for 40 days before the Easter Weekend), the brew is to be called Abstinence. The irony in the moniker is becomes clear once the style of the brew is made clear: Belgian Dubbel Chocolate Ale – clearly nothing has been skimped on here.
Hitting bottleshops in 640mL bottles, the brew joins the other recent limited editions including last year’s Halloween Pumpkin Ale and this year’s Australia Day beer, The Convict.
In other news, the contract brewer has reported a 148% rise in kegged beer sales across their entire portfolio and a 91% sales growth in their contract brewing products (both compared to prior comparative growth periods).
