In celebration of International Women’s Day (IWD), which takes place annually on 8 March, Gage Roads Brew Co and Pink Boots Society have unveiled the latest product of a long-term partnership, She’s Golden Mango Wheat Ale.

Marking the duo’s sixth consecutive IWD release, with $50k in funds raised to date, the new brew will once again fund scholarships that support the progression of women in the brewing industry.

Gage Roads Brand Manager, Emily Creer, says: “Created through collaboration of an all-female team at Gage Roads, we’re proud to have a brew that supports and celebrates the women in our industry but also sparks important conversation about gender equality. The IWD release also promotes a sense of community and empowerment within brewing and beyond.”

Packed with fresh, juicy mango, She’s Golden Mango Wheat Ale puts a sweet Aussie spin on a classic wheat ale, combining a smooth mouthfeel with balanced, soft bitterness and a crisp finish. Gage Roads Brewer Simone Clements says the brewery has wanted to pursue this style for some time.

“There had been talk within the team of making a mango wheat beer for years. IWD seemed like the perfect reason to whip this one out of the bag. I love how the burst of fresh mango compliments the banana and clove character contributed by the yeast in this beer.

“Raising the profile of women in the brewing industry is close to my heart. I think it’s important to show the next generation of women that this is a viable career pathway,” she stated.

Pink Boots Society Australia President, Sarah Turner, added: “As we celebrate the fifth year of the Women in Leadership Scholarship, we acknowledge the incredible ongoing support from Gage Roads.

“Their generous $50,000 contribution over the years has provided invaluable opportunities for women and non-binary people in beer to develop their leadership skills, both professionally and personally.

“Their commitment to social impact and fostering diversity in our industry is truly commendable. On behalf of the Pink Boots Society Australia Board and our community, I extend my deepest gratitude for their leadership and unwavering support,” she concluded.

Coming in at four per cent ABV, She’s Golden Mango Wheat Ale will be available across Western Australia in 500ml cans and on tap at supporting venues, including Gage Roads Freo.
