Frenchies’ Fresh Harvest Beer Festival is set to return on Saturday 25 May, promising a selection of fresh, hop-forward beers, a Hop Olympics, brewery tours and more.
Hosted at Sydney’s Frenchies Bistro & Brewery, the independent breweries on show include 2Halfs, One Drop Brewing Co, Rocks Brewing Co., Seeker Brewing, The Social Brewers, and Frenchies Brewery. Attendees will be able to taste a wide range of beers, speak with the brewers, and learn the stories behind their creations.
The Hop Olympics is a new addition this year and will include events throughout the day such as a hop matching challenge, sack racing and hopscotch. In addition, there will be educational panels covering hop trends, new releases, and different hop usages.
Running from 12pm to 8pm, the event has two ticket options. The $25 ticket includes access to the event, games, and panels, and the $59 ticket also includes lunch from the dedicated beer food menu at Frenchies’ Bistro and a 30-minute brewery tour.
Vincent de Soyres, the event’s Founder, and Brewery Director and Co-Founder of Frenchies Bistro & Brewery explained that the event is an important means of highlighting independent brewers, especially during this difficult period for the industry.
“Hops are what make our world go round, and we love nothing more than incorporating new releases and freshly picked varieties in our brews. So, what better way to celebrate them than with an event dedicated to all things hops,” he said.
“Given the challenges the industry has been facing of late, this year in particular we see The Fresh Harvest Beer Festival as an important opportunity to highlight the creativity and talent of some of our fellow independents, and provide a platform for beer fans to come together to support and recognise independent beer producers at a time when they need it most. So, we look forward to seeing everyone down at Frenchies for a day of good brews, games, food, beer talk, and all round good times.”
