On Saturday 28 September, Oktoberfeast will return to Frenchies Bistro & Brewery in Rosebery, Sydney for a day of Bavarian themed festivities including German-style beers and authentic food.

Each year Oktoberfeast brings together German food favourites and freshly poured beers at the casual bistro and brewery at The Cannery, with three traditional beers brewed for the occasion this year.

Patrons will be able to choose between a Kellerbier, a German Hefeweizen brewed in collaboration with Sydney Brewery, and a traditional Festbier, with all three beers only available on the day. The event will also showcase the winning Brewer’s Got Talent beer, Black Forest Cake – Imperial Pastry Stout, alongside Frenchies core range.

Vincent De Soyres, Co-Founder and Brewery Director at Frenchies Bistro & Brewery, says: “Oktoberfest is a key global beer event on the annual calendar, and we love giving people the opportunity to experience this traditional celebration right here in Sydney, albeit with a little Frenchies twist.

“Our three beers are currently being perfected in their tanks, and we look forward to launching them on the day.”

It wouldn’t be Oktoberfeast without a food feast, and the menu has been curated to complement the beers while satisfying the overall Oktoberfest theme, featuring house made traditional German dishes.

Highlights include pretzels, bitesize cheese and potato croquettes, and patrons can expect to see the return of the popular crispy skin pork knuckle drizzled in beer gravy, and weisswurst, bratwurst and currywurst paired with white wine sauerkraut.

Games will take place at regular intervals throughout the day with a range of prizes on offer. A tug of war, beer glass holding challenge, nail hammering activity and Oktoberfeast outfit competition will all encourage friendly competition among attendees.

Thomas Cauquil, Co-Founder and Head Chef at Frenchies Bistro & Brewery, added: “It’s always fun to mix our usual service up and bring attendees together for some of life’s greatest pleasures: hearty German fare, and authentic beers to match.

“The games are always a must for a little bit of lighthearted competition and play, too – and combined, these three key elements will ensure the event is one to remember.”

Oktoberfeast tickets are on sale now, priced at $25 per person, including a branded stein glass and access to take part in the games. Tickets will also be available at the door on the day.
