BeerFest is returning to the Fremantle Esplanade bigger than ever in November with plans to expand the 2021 site across Wardan Lane to accommodate larger on-site attractions, programs, and activities.
Presented in conjunction with Little Creatures and featuring over 300 small batch craft beers, ciders and cocktails across three days from November 12 to 14, this year’s Freo BeerFest will include designated container bars from the likes of WA brewers Little Creatures, Shelter, Froth, Blasta and Feral. Beerfarm’s zone will also boast the Bow Wow Brau Bar that will be serving a non-alcoholic beer for dogs.
“Our amazing local producers hail from all over WA and their exceptional and innovative food and drink offerings are definitely the hero of the festival,” the organisers said in a statement. “It’s why people come from all over Australia. Everything else is there to complement them and keep everyone completely entertained across the weekend. Our goal is to create the best possible environment for our brewers to showcase their brews and brands.”
A major highlight of the festival will be the Cryer Malt Masterclass and Brewers stage presented by The WA Brewers Association. Delivered in partnership with Fremantle BeerFest, and hosted by industry legend Steven Blaine, there will be a massive variety of masterclasses, food and beer pairings, brewer chats and trivia.
“Freo BeerFest is all about WA’s love for local beer – the masterclasses, chats and tastings are an awesome way to explore beer and some of the unique brews coming out of WA,” WA Brewers Association president Andy Scade said. “We’ve got heaps of fun sessions planned like brewery quizzes, malt sack races and of course, plenty of free tastings to get your tastebuds fired up. For people who may not have stepped into the world of craft beer before – the classes and tastings are the perfect opportunity to do so.”
