Carlton & United Breweries CEO Ari Mervis has announced that the company’s Chief Marketing Officer, Andy Gibson, has resigned.
Gibson will be relocating to the UK to take up a role in London as the Chief Marketing Officer and President of Bacardi Global Brands.
“While it is a loss for us at Carlton & United Breweries, it is a great opportunity for Andy,” says Mervis. “It has long been an aspiration of his to head up the marketing function for a global alcohol company.”
He added that Gibson has had an immense impact on the business since he took up the position 15 months ago.
“Andy has driven a complete brand and marketing review. It has been a comprehensive process using the SABMiller systems and processes,” says Mervis. “No doubt, the standout result has been the turnaround of our largest brand, Victoria Bitter, from ten years of decline.”
Gibson will finish in April with an announcement regarding his replacement to be made in the coming months.
