Coopers has become the official beer sponsor of World Surf League Australia under a new three-year deal. The deal includes pourage rights at the four marquee Australian WSL events held each year – Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach, The Margaret River Pro Championship, The Boost Mobile Gold Coast Pro and the Sydney Surf Pro Challenger Series.
The partnership will include all Coopers products but with a particular focus on their Pacific Pale Ale.
Coopers national marketing manager Kate Dowd said: “We’re excited to be supporting the World Surf League over the next three years, an organisation for which we share similar values. As a proud Australian independent brewery, we have a strong appreciation for the Aussie coast and coastal lifestyle”.
WSL Asia Pacific general manager Andrew Stark added: “Coopers has an authentic passion for where they’ve been and where they’re going, which aligns fantastically with the ethos of the World Surf League”.
Meanwhile, Coopers has also announced the inaugural winner of their Real to Reel film contest.
From 18 entrants bodyboard film-maker Todd Barnes (pictured above on the left) from Wollongong in NSW won top prize and walked away with $5,000, Coopers beer and promotion in Stab magazine for his film.
The Real to Reel contest was a collaboration between Coopers and Stab to find surf film-makers.
