Sydney’s Carriageworks in Redfern
Sip & Savour, Australia’s newest craft beer experience, will be held at the heritage listedCarriageworks in Sydney on 25-26 October.
Australian Beer Ambassadors and BEST Australia, the creative minds behind craft beer festivals in Victoria, Western Australia and Tasmania, believe the timing is right to launch the event, which will be a fitting close to Sydney’s Craft Beer Week.
Director of Australian Beer Ambassadors Kieran Blood said Sydney-siders have embraced craft beer and this event will celebrate the craftsmanship, artistry and passion that goes into its creation.
“It will promote and encourage awareness, appreciation and understanding while delivering a cultural experience befitting of the great space,” Blood said.
Craft beer festivals have been taking over event spaces nationwide, popping up year round to offer the palates of beer enthusiasts a selection of new and unique ales and lagers for sampling.
James Harding of BEST Australia and co-festival director said the aim is to create an event that aficionados, converts and the uninitiated alike can enjoy. More than 200 boutique beers and ciders together with an experience that stimulates more than just taste buds and engages on a sensory and intellectual level.
“We’re looking forward to fusing the craft of brewing with the inspired talents of emerging and seasoned artists, musicians, photographers and filmmakers”, he said.
There will be free seminars with some of the country’s most knowledgeable industry professionals, presenting across-the-board topics from how to match beer and food, brew your own craft beer right through to learning what’s required to start your own brewery.
Tickets will be available from mid-July.
