Sydney’s Akasha Brewing have released their first limited edition beer for the year – a Blood Orange Gose (4.5% ABV).
Since their rebrand last year, the Five Dock brewery’s Akasha Project limited series has dished up a regular stream of hop-forward beers in varying levels of ABV. But in keeping with the season they’ve now delivered something sessionable, Summery and somewhat sour.
Originally brewed as a tiny keg-only collaboration with downtown Sydney beer and cocktail bar Spooning Goats, Akasha have brought the Blood Orange Gose back – albeit after some tweaks.
Displaying a rosé-like pinkish hue, it’s kettle-soured with lactobacillus, brewed with sea salt and coriander seed and fermented with “buckets” of blood orange pulp to deliver citrusy, salty complexity.
