Woodend’s Holgate Brewhouse are taking full advantage of the final Summer vibes with the limited release of Tivo Orange Sour in mid-Feb.
Like sipping on an aperitivo watching an Italian sunset, it’s the perfect way to enjoy ‘la dolce vita’ as day turns to night. Sun-kissed orange hues meet enticing aromas and subtle floral bitterness in this vibrant, spritz-inspired sour. This limited release is in collaboration with Umberto Espresso Bar, an authentic Italian restaurant located in Thornbury, Melbourne. Like Holgate, Umberto is family-owned and run, and is a favourite amongst the locals.
Holgate then follow this up in March with their popular Hazy IPA, this time in 375ml cans. With a silky mouthfeel, it has a big hop character (as you’d expect from an IPA) plus mango nectar, orange and peach notes from massive amounts of Amarillo, Azacca and Mosaic.
Then they fire up the thrusters in April for the annual Millennium Falcon Emperial IPA release, again in 375ml cans. First brewed in 2013, this Holgate favourite has been tweaked over the years, but is still super fruity, super juicy and surprisingly drinkable given its 9% ABV. With a strong following from both beer lovers and fans of certain film franchise, this limited always runs out quickly, in time for May 4th.
