A rare career opportunity to head a new Australian brew house.
Casella Wines is known internationally for its market-leading
[YELLOW TAIL] ® brand – consistently ranked Australia’s most powerful wine brand and one of the top 5 in the world. Based at the thriving regional city of Griffith, New South Wales, Casella is Australia’s largest family-owned wine company.
Casella recently announced the establishment of a large new brew house, destined to produce a range of brands aimed at the domestic and key international markets. This venture will draw upon Casella’s extensive financial and international distribution resources.
To lead and succeed in this exciting new venture, you will need to be energetic, adaptable and innovative with an international market perspective. You will be an experienced, “hands-on” brewing professional with experience in product development and preparation of trial brews essential. You will be able to demonstrate sound business acumen and leadership skills. Working initially with a leading Australian brewing consultant, you will be a key member of Casella’s senior management team.
The successful applicant will require:
appropriate tertiary qualifications (eg BSc. in Brewing Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Engineering or a related field)
a minimum of 10 years experience as a senior brewer; some general management experience
an excellent working knowledge of the full brewing process, accepted brewing practices and procedures
an excellent knowledge of the maintenance and operation of production equipment
specific experience in product development and the production of trial brews
excellent technical understanding of materials, product, systems and process
good working knowledge of other operational practices ie. Distribution, Packaging, Utilities, Maintenance, Production Services, Tech Services, Quality Services, etc
a strong focus on quality and attention to detail
