Think you’ve got it in you to become the ultimate Bavarian Bier Café Man/Woman? Read on. Returning again this May, Pure Bier Fest will have a range of tempting deals for true bier (not beer) lovers on offer across their eight Sydney venues.
The month-long festival is a celebration of theGerman Reinheitsgebot (Bier Purity Law) of 1516, which traditionalist argue is possibly the best consumer law ever written. It, of course, legislated that pure German bier could only contain four ingredients; hops, malt, yeast and water – the Bavarian Bier Café’s secret to great tasting pure bier. And according to Bavarian Bier Café Managing Director, John Szangolies, Pure Bier Fest is a celebration of authentic Bavarian Bier. “It gives our patrons an opportunity to appreciate the quality ingredients and heritage of Bavarian Bier,” he says. “Most importantly, we aim to put on a fun month where our guests can enjoy great food and bier while joining in the Pure Bier Fest spirit.”
Launching on Tuesday 1 May across all Bavarian Bier Café venues, Pure Bier Fest’s calendar of offers includes:
Mondays
Monday night Bier Flights will aid you back into the working week – $10 gets you a selection of specially imported and specialty Bavarian Pure Biers.
Tuesdays
Think you can slam down a mega pork schnitzel? The ultimate Löwenschnitzel eating challenge will stretch bellies across Sydney on Tuesday night, with a bier on the house if you get to the last gulp.
Wednesdays
Pure Bier taste challenges will test the most hoppy taste buds on a Wednesday night, pitching Pure Bier against ‘standard’ Aussie beers (not biers).
Thursdays
Thursdays will see the return of the Bier Akademies, run by Bavarian Bier Café’s own Bier Meisters who will be teaching bier lovers everything they need to know about Pure Bier.
Fridays
Bier & Beats featuring DJ music will get patrons in the mood to wind down the working week on Fridays.
Now to becoming ‘The Man’ or ‘The Woman’: over the course of the festival, guests can participate in a challenge and earn tallies against their name on the Bavarian Bier Café blackboard. At the end of the Pure Bier Fest, the winning Man or Woman at each location will receive an invitation into the Stein Club, an exclusive invite only bier club, and the accolade of their name represented on a stein in the venue.
