Some good news for the burgeoning New Zealand whisky makers – two rare whiskies from the Land of the Long White Cloud have given the establishment a big shake by taking out gold medals at the recent Mid West Whisky Olympics in Michigan, USA.
On the blended side of the fence, the 10yo Dunedin Doublewood took out gold for World’s Best Blended Whisky, while the 21yo South Island Single Malt was named World’s Best Single Malt
It’s a huge boost for the whisky scene in NZ – and it’s always heartening to see the world of whisky opening up even more. For more info on the winners, head to www.thenzwhisky.com.
