Kicking of again for 2013, the Queensland Homebrewing Conference is pleased to announce Ben Krause of cult brewery Bridge Road Brewing as lead speaker for this year’s conference on July 13.
well-known and respected in the craft beer industry, Krause will be presenting at the conference on his experiences, as well as brewing
methods – especially using adjuncts and the odd barrel. It will be a great presentation for those looking to take their brewing to a new level or looking to try something
different.
And if discussions on barrels, flowers, bees, muesli and fruit toast isn’t out-there enough, Josh Uljans from Moondog Brewery certainly will be. Famed for beers named Perverse Sexual Amalgam, Black Lung, Melon Gibson and Wet Nurse Tonic that use ingredients like cherry plums, mangoes, passionfruit, muscovado sugar, and roast pumpkin, he is sure to raise a few eyebrows.
To round out the list is Ian Watson, formerly of Murray’s Brewing and now head brewer for Fortitude Brewing at Mount Tamborine. And Wade Curtis, a local lad and brewer at 4 Hearts.
There are also a few local homebrewing experts in the mix with the odd product supplier, making it a packed and informative day for brewers of all levels.
The Queensland Homebrewing Conference will be held in Brisbane on Saturday, 13 July 2013.
The one day event is on at the Southbank Institute of Technology, and is followed by a Beer and Food Matching Dinner on the Saturday evening.
Tickets go on sale on 01 May 2013. For more information, call David Kitchen or Joe Curtis on 07 3879 3882, email contact@brewerschoice.com.au or check out the website at www.theqhc.com.au.
