The Frenchies Bistro & Brewery-hosted Fresh Harvest Beer Festival is making a comeback on May 20 where nine Sydney breweries will showcase a range of styles all brewed with fresh hops.
The festival was launched by Frenchies back in 2018 but it took a hiatus in recent years. Founder Vincent de Soyres said the team were super excited for its re-launch with 2Halfs, Beer Fontaine, Bracket, One Drop, Rocks, Slow Lane, Bondi Brewing and the Social Brewers joining them for the ticketed event.
“The event will showcase beers brewed using the freshest hops from the recent harvest here in the Southern Hemisphere, as well as the latest Northern Hemisphere hops that are now available in Australia,” Vincent said.
“They impart the freshest possible aromas, which are more fruity and oily in flavour and texture, resulting in the highest quality tasting brews. So, we’re really looking forward to bringing these special creations to The Cannery for one day only.”
Beer tastings will be paired with a curated menu by the Frenchies Bistro team, who will be slinging dishes including burgers, hot dogs and fries. Plus, ticket holders will be automatically entered into a raffle, where beer and merch prizes will be up for grabs.
Meanwhile, Frenchies recently partnered with New Zealand hop growers Freestyle Hops and Sydney co-operative brewery Hopsters on three new limited release IPAs.
The Hazy IPA uses the classic Kiwi hop Nelson Sauvin, the Cold IPA showcases experimental blend Kohia Nelson (a combination of Motueka, Rakau, New Zealand Cascade and local passionfruit) while the Dark IPA spotlights Rakau.
