Good Beer Week might not be going ahead but that hasn’t stopped one of Australian craft’s longest running collaborative brews from powering on as Matilda Bay, Moon Dog and Mountain Goat join forces once again for their 12th Abbey Collaby.
The result of this year’s alliance, which was originally borne out of the near-neighbour relationship of the inner Melbourne breweries, is a 6.6% hazy IPA which will be launched on May 25 at Collingwood Children’s Farm with all proceeds from the night going back to supporting the farm.
The event will be held from 6pm to 11pm in the venue’s undercover and heated barn with a line-up of local Melbourne acts, including DJ Adriana, Jess Ribeiro and Steel Wheels. Food will be provided by Blue Bonnet BBQ, with vegetarian and vegan options on the night.
Matilda Bay’s James Aris said: “We are really excited to be bringing this Abbey Collabby event back to its heart and soul – which is about raising money for a great contributor to the North Melbourne community in Collingwood Children’s Farm”.
Collingwood Children’s Farm is largely self-funded through trade and uses revenue from events to care for its animals, conserve their heritage farmland and fund inclusive programs to support those experiencing adversity. Find more information on the farm here.
