The second Home Brew Master Competition will return to the Vic on the Park Hotel, Enmore on Saturday, 7 March.
The competition will showcase home brewers and allow them to bring their brews to the beer loving public. It will be run in the same style as the Craft Beer Festival, held for the past three years also at the Vic on the Park, where professional brewers showcase their finest craft beers.
Sam Taylor of the Riversdale Group says while it is the first time some of these home brewers will take their brews to the public he wants them to be treated as the budding professionals they are.
“Home brewers are passionate about what they do and loved the public trying and enjoying their beers,” he said of last year’s event.
“Hasn’t every home brewer dreamt about starting their own brewery at one time or another? This event can make those dreams become a reality.”
This year will also feature both a ‘Judge’s Choice Award’ and a ‘People’s Choice Award’. The winner of the Judge’s Choice will be produced by Young Henrys Brewery and be made commercially available on tap at the Vic on the Park Hotel and other select venues. While the People’s Choice winning brew will be made commercially at Batch Brewing and be available at select venues.
