Entries close this Friday for the 2024 Melbourne Royal Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA), leaving less than a week for brewers to submit their beers to the competition.
The AIBAs is one of the largest annual global beer competitions, judging both draught and packaged beer, alongside beer packaging design.
Submissions are encouraged from breweries of all sizes, from microbreweries to large-scale commercial giants. The awards serve as a key benchmark for the industry.
This year, the AIBAs will feature several changes to the program, following the 2023 Edition US Brewers Association Beer Style Guidelines. West Coast-Style India Pale Ale and Dessert or Pastry Stout have been added as new styles, and New World Lager is being split into Modern Lager and Modern Pilsner.
Judging will take place 7 to 10 May, and trophies will be presented at the Trophy Presentation Dinner on 16 May at the Victoria Pavilion at Melbourne Showgrounds. Tickets are on sale now.
