Following the opening of its latest venue last December in Sydney’s Darling Harbour, Beer DeLuxe has launched its inaugural Home Brew Heroes competition.
Australian home brewers will be given the opportunity to put their best beer in front of a panel of judges with the overall winner of ‘Best Beer’ awarded an all-expenses paid trip to a major partner brewery to collaboratively brew the recipe. The beer will then be tapped at Beer DeLuxe venues in New South Wales and Victoria.
Each entrant is required to submit 500ml of beer in any or all of the three categories – Pale Ale, IPA and Speciality – for the initial tasting round.
A qualifying round will be held at four Beer DeLuxe venues in New South Wales and Victoria, which will see the announcement of the top 10 finalists for each category. Each qualifying event will be a ‘Craft Beer Festival’ in itself with live entertainment and local brewer pop-ups.
The Grand Final will take place at Beer DeLuxe Federation Square in May, with one winner chosen for each category as well as the overall ‘Best Beer’ and ‘People’s Choice Award’.
“Having excellent beer in our venues is our number one priority and we don’t mind if it comes from an established European brewer, a local Australian craft beer company or someone’s back yard,” said Beer DeLuxe marketing manager Tom Allan.
“We’ve been lucky enough to sample many home brews our customers have brought into the venues over the years and we wanted to give them the opportunity to take their beers to the centre stage.”

- Fill out the entry form online (or in venue)
- Bring your brew to your local Beer DeLuxe
