Fruit and Cider Manager - Cascade
Know your fruit!
Manage the daily operation of the fruit and cider section of the Cascade Beverage plant from the sourcing of apple and berry fruit from growers, through to processing the final products including apple juice, cider and vinegar! Share your knowledge of fruit juice and vinegar commodity markets and how they impact the Cascade and CUB operation.
Co-ordinate bulk commodity sales and identify and assist in process improvement opportunities. Ensure the safe and smooth operation of the Fruit Processing and Cider area, complying with quality and environment standards. Drive monthly reporting of all production and meet operating and maintenance budgets. Stakeholder management is vital as is supporting line efficiencies in packaging. Maximise opportunities for personnel sharing with packaging and develop a deep understanding of the multiple processes involved in fruit and cider, and how to measure and evaluate them. Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, and productivity. Understand and maintain the Cascade quality and environmental system and evaluation procedure and provide short term cover for the Beverages Packaging Manager role if needed.
You are degree qualified in a science discipline and have an Institute of Brewing and Distilling Diploma qualification. Your experience in brewing, wine making or food processing will compliment your ability to manage a production team. A high level of competence in computers and a familiarity with PLC process sequencing will enable you to commission and trouble shoot in an automated plant.

*Experience at running a commercial The Duckstein Brewery at Saracen Estates (Margaret River) is seeking a Head Brewer. Voted 2nd in the ‘Aussie Top 10 Breweries' by Outthere magazine in 2009, the Duckstein is situated on a picturesque estate in the Southwest which will make going to work a pleasure. The brewer will play a key role in this landmark tourism-centred business, preparing beers for weddings, concerts and of course Oktoberfest!
The Head Brewer is required to fill beer orders for the Duckstein Brewery in Margaret River, Duckstein Swan Valley and for several other select customers.
The Head Brewer is responsible for an Assistant Brewer and will report to the Saracen Estates Facility Manager.
Key Attributes:
*Experience at running a commercial craft brewery.
*Formal qualifications in brewing or a related discipline.
*Knowledge and experience with German Beer styles.
*Ability to provide reports relating to brewery output and financial controls.
